When A Sailor Meets His Match…

It is well known throughout the dock that our Scottish neighbor, Dave, thrives on telling “wee” stories and jumps upon any opportunity to tell them.

However, it is also well known throughout the dock that Sadie, the four-year old little girl that lives two boats down from Dave, is a big talker as well. Sadie enjoys being a princess, calling out for her unicorn fleet, making up songs and riding her trusty pony, Pegasus, at a whim and will always make sure to include the nearest passerby in the fun.

The other day, Dave was working on his outboard engine when Sadie came up and wanted to help…because of course with her magical powers she can fix anything.

I find it funny when two people, worlds apart in age and reason meet and interact. So I believe this picture explains it all.

The cultured sailor fascinated and speechless (or perhaps because he couldn’t get a word in edge-wise) by the bright-eyed princess.
